After a recent promotion, we’re getting to know ABL’s Trainee Commercial Finance Consultant, Chloe English, to discover a bit more about why she loves to be part of the ABL team and what makes her tick.
What’s the best part of your job?
I enjoy how there is so much variety in the day-to-day goings on of the business. We’re always helping such a broad range of customers – each with very bespoke needs – to find the right finance for them.
What is the one thing that you’d want your colleagues to know you for?
Always having a smile on my face! I know for sure this is something which will stick with them, I’m a very positive person and hope this shines through.
What three words do you think best describe ABL?
· Enjoyable – While we get the work done, we all have a good time!
· Appreciative – At ABL, we value all our customers and employees as part of our ethos.
· Individual – We stand out from other brokers because we are very customer focused and tell it straight.
What three words would your colleagues use to describe you?
· Fashionista – I’m always buying new clothes and outfits in a bid to keep up with the latest trends.
· Upbeat – I am a very cheery person.
· Fun – I’ll be the first to join in a good laugh.
If you were the boss for a day, what one rule/change would you implement?
I’d set up a rule that we only work 9am-12pm on a Friday and go out for a long lunch to celebrate the start of the weekend. Who doesn’t love a half-day followed by food? Plus, the team could decompress together after a week of helping clients.
Where’s your favourite place to eat out?
I adore Eastern Court in Castleford, which is a Chinese Buffet. I love Asian cuisine, and when you can have your favourite food at an all-you-can-eat buffet, I don’t think it can get any better.
What’s the first thing you do when you get home on a Friday evening?
I live in a pub, so I usually see who has dropped in for a drink that day and, after swift visit upstairs to change out of ‘work mode’, I usually end up coming straight back downstairs to help out.
Where is the best place in the UK for a two-day getaway?
The Yorkshire Dales. It’s always been a family favourite and I have been camping and caravanning in the national park since I was a child.
If we were to spend a day box set binging, what series would you recommend we watch?
Keeping up with the Kardashians! I know they’re not everyone’s favourite; however, I love an easy watch and it helps me switch off after a day of working in finance.
How does your ideal Sunday pan out?
Currently, I prefer to do nothing all day! However, when the pub can finally open again, I’m usually hanging out downstairs with my friends, or helping out with customers.
