We see these incredible women and want to build them and their businesses up, providing them with support. We are doing our small bit in a small way, but everyone has to start somewhere…
We’ve spoken to women who work in Manufacturing, Catering, Business Advisors, Finance Directors and Accounts to find out from them what it means to be a woman in business, how we’ve worked together as a business and how they hope to inspire the next generation.
Daletech
Daletech has been providing low volume niche electronic manufacturing services to OEMs for over 30 years, offering comprehensive support from design to PCB assembly, BOM procurement, testing and much more.

Being the Managing Director of Daletech Electronics, one of the most renowned niche manufacturing companies in Leeds, and with 30 years' experience working in the electronics manufacturing industry, I am very fortunate to be in a position to back calls for more to be done to encourage young people and especially women to get into the region’s sector.

Finance Director Viv Parry:
My biggest focus as a woman in business is making sure that I am a visible role model to other women. I also spend a large amount of time mentoring others as it’s so important to lift others and help them believe that their goal is achievable.
I have used ABL for a number of years now, they are definitely my “go to” commercial finance broker. Largely because I know they are focussed on finding the most appropriate solution for the borrower but also because they make the process super easy. I don’t have the time or the knowledge to look at the marketplace myself so I’m more than happy to use ABL to bridge this gap The whole team are very friendly and efficient, with great communication at all stages of the application.

Working in this industry, I’m proud of everything that I’ve achieved. I want to inspire more women to work in this sector, encourage them to find their voice and make a difference.

We are still in a World where the ratio of Men and Women in leading roles are still in balanced, however I entered my professional career to ensure there is a change in this, and to empower women that anything is possible.
Do not let anything hold you back, especially yourself. As a mother of 4, my children and family have been my strength. You do not have to choose between a family or career, it is all entirely possible.

To me, being a woman in business is all about support and working in partnership together. I have the opportunity to build relationships with clients, often at very complex times of their life, and support them to find positive solutions.
Working with ABL reflects this, as together we support both our clients and each other.
If I could give my younger self some guidance it would be always be yourself; accept you won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Nurture a safe and supportive network and aim high. Appreciate there will be lots of ups and downs along the way, but you and your network will always be there, sharing those cups of tea together.
